Patterned Kitchen Vinyl Flooring | For the Floor & More

Patterned Kitchen Vinyl Flooring

Kitchens have plenty to do. The floor can still bring personality.

Kitchens ask a lot of a floor. That doesn’t mean it has to disappear into the background.

You may already be working around cabinet colour, worktops, timber, paint and the light in the room — wondering whether the floor should lead or quietly pull everything together.

Pattern underfoot can do either: add structure, echo what is already there, or open the space up without shouting.

Find the floor that earns its place in the kitchen

Your floor can set the tone, pick up colours already in the room, or keep things quieter. These are three ways to start.

Let the floor lead

Bold stripe or structure when you want the pattern to set the tone.

Work with what’s already there

Echo cabinet colour, worktop or paint so the room feels pulled together.

Keep it calmer

Softer repeat or quieter palette when you want the kitchen to feel open.

Patterned vinyl flooring in a small kitchen

Patterned vinyl flooring for small kitchens

Small kitchen? Pattern doesn’t automatically make it feel busier.

A galley kitchen, compact flat or smaller space can take more personality underfoot than you might expect.

A larger repeat can feel calmer and more graphic; a smaller one brings finer detail. In a long, narrow kitchen, the direction and rhythm of the pattern can also help draw the eye through the room rather than stopping it at the units.

There is no single “correct” pattern — scale and spacing matter more than room size alone.

Which colour direction fits your kitchen?

You might already be working with navy cabinets, cream units, timber worktops or a colour you want to bring in. Start with what’s already in the room — or the one thing you want to change.

Green kitchen flooring

Sage, olive, teal and forest green can work very differently with timber, painted cabinets and stone — from soft and quiet to much more graphic.

Pink kitchen flooring

From plaster and blush to rose and coral, pink can warm up pale cabinetry or pick up colour already in tiles, paint or accessories.

Black and white kitchen flooring

Checkerboards, herringbones and finer geometrics can give a kitchen structure without adding another colour to the room.

Why sheet vinyl works so well in a kitchen

Pattern might be what catches your eye. What matters every day is how the floor feels and behaves in a kitchen.

Fewer joins

Up to 2.9m wide means many kitchens can be supplied in one piece. Larger rooms may need a planned join.

Pattern without the grout

Get the rhythm of tiles, mosaics or parquet without grout lines breaking up the design.

Everyday clean-ups

Everyday spills are easy to deal with. The water-resistant surface is designed for normal household cleaning.

R10 slip-rated

Extra reassurance where spills happen, with an R10 slip-resistance rating.

A little more give

The 2.6mm cushioned construction has a little more give than hard ceramic or stone — useful in a room where you spend plenty of time standing.

Warm floors welcome

Compatible underfloor heating works too, as long as the finished floor surface stays at or below 27°C.

How do I measure around units and islands?

Measure the area that needs flooring at its widest and longest points, including doorways and recesses.

Order to those overall measurements plus 5–10cm. Your fitter makes the final cuts around units, islands and other fixed fittings on site.

Kitchen flooring questions, answered

A few practical things worth knowing before you choose.

Is patterned vinyl flooring suitable for kitchens?

Yes. It is made for everyday kitchen use, including the spills and busy daily life that come with it. The floor is 2.6mm cushioned vinyl with an R10 slip-resistance rating and a water-resistant surface.

Is kitchen vinyl flooring waterproof?

The surface is water-resistant and made for everyday kitchen spills, but it is not a waterproofing system. Wipe up spills as part of normal cleaning and make sure the subfloor and installation are suitable for the room.

Is sheet vinyl easy to clean in a kitchen?

Yes. Use warm water with a suitable multipurpose floor cleaner and a damp mop or cloth. A soft or medium brush can help with stubborn areas. Avoid bleach, solvents and abrasive pads.

Can my kitchen floor be supplied in one piece?

Often, yes. Floors can be produced up to 2.9m wide, so many kitchens can be supplied in one piece. If your room needs more than one panel, we plan the join as part of the order.

Can I change the flooring colour to work with my kitchen cabinets?

On some eligible designs, yes. Send us a paint reference, Pantone, HEX code or swatch and we’ll confirm what is possible. You’ll see any colour change on your digital proof before production.

What pattern scale works best in a small kitchen?

There isn’t one scale that is automatically right for a small kitchen. A larger repeat can feel calmer and more graphic; a smaller one brings finer detail. How much floor is visible, the direction of the pattern and the rest of the room matter too. On eligible designs, we can also adjust the scale and show you the result on your proof.

Can I use kitchen vinyl flooring with underfloor heating?

Yes. It works with compatible underfloor heating systems, as long as the finished floor surface stays at or below 27°C. Your installer should follow the full fitting guidance before, during and after installation.

How do I measure a kitchen with units or an island?

Measure the widest and longest points of the area that needs flooring, including doorways and recesses. Order to those overall measurements plus 5–10cm. Your fitter makes the final cuts around units, islands and other fixed fittings on site.

Is kitchen lino the same as vinyl flooring?

“Lino” is often used as a general name for sheet flooring, but true linoleum and vinyl are different materials. The flooring we supply is 2.6mm cushioned sheet vinyl.
