The herringbone look, in cushioned sheet vinyl
Traditional herringbone flooring is created by laying individual blocks in an alternating zigzag arrangement. Our herringbone designs use that familiar geometry across a continuous sheet vinyl floor instead.
There are no individual parquet blocks to position. Your flooring is supplied rolled as a panel, ready for your fitter to trim to the room during installation.
Our flooring is 2.6mm cushioned sheet vinyl with an R10 slip-rated surface, making it a practical choice for everyday interiors including kitchens, bathrooms, hallways and utility rooms.
More than one herringbone look
Soft colour
Pink, pale blue and softer neutrals can make herringbone feel much lighter and less formal than traditional parquet.
Deep and graphic
Navy, green, black and stronger contrasts give the pattern more definition and make the floor a bigger part of the room.
Pattern scale
Larger blocks create a broader, calmer rhythm. A smaller scale introduces more movement and a denser herringbone pattern across the floor.

Herringbone vinyl flooring for bathrooms
Bathrooms and cloakrooms can take a surprisingly strong herringbone pattern. The geometry gives a compact floor structure, while the sheet format means the herringbone effect continues across the surface without individual parquet joints.
Pair deeper colours with white sanitaryware for stronger contrast, or use softer tones for a quieter interpretation of the pattern.

Herringbone flooring for hallways and entrances
The repeated zigzag gives hallways and entrances a clear sense of movement. It can work particularly well where a plain floor would feel a little too quiet but a more intricate geometric would be too busy.
The direction and scale of the pattern both affect how the floor feels in the room, which is why your room proof is useful before production begins.

For rooms wider than 2.9 metres, we can produce multiple panels. Around 50mm of additional pattern is included along joining edges so your fitter can align and trim the design accurately.

Herringbone or chevron?
They are often grouped together, but the patterns are different. Herringbone uses rectangular shapes arranged so the end of one meets the side of the next, creating a broken zigzag.

Does herringbone vinyl flooring come on a roll?
Yes. Our herringbone flooring is cushioned sheet vinyl and is supplied rolled rather than as individual parquet blocks or planks. Each floor is produced to the dimensions you provide, with panels available up to 2.9 metres wide.
Is herringbone sheet vinyl the same as herringbone LVT?
No. LVT is normally supplied as individual tiles or planks. Our herringbone flooring is 2.6mm cushioned sheet vinyl, with the complete herringbone pattern running across the sheet.
Is herringbone vinyl flooring suitable for kitchens?
Yes. Our patterned sheet vinyl is suitable for kitchens when correctly installed over a clean, flat and dry subfloor. It has an R10 slip rating and is supplied as a continuous sheet rather than individual herringbone blocks.
Is herringbone vinyl flooring suitable for bathrooms?
Yes. It is suitable for bathrooms, cloakrooms and utility rooms when correctly fitted. Panels are available up to 2.9 metres wide, so many smaller rooms can be supplied in one piece.
Can I change the colour of a herringbone flooring design?
Yes. Most designs can be adjusted in colour at no extra cost. Send us a useful colour reference and we’ll reproduce it as closely as the flooring material allows.
Can I make the herringbone pattern larger or smaller?
Yes. Most herringbone designs can be adjusted in scale before production. Your room proof shows the chosen scale before your floor is produced.
Can the herringbone pattern run in a different direction?
Where the design allows, the orientation can be changed. Tell us how you would like the pattern to run and we’ll confirm what is possible and show the layout in your room proof.
What happens if my room is wider than 2.9 metres?
We can produce the floor in more than one panel. Where panels join, we include around 50mm of additional pattern along the joining edges so your fitter can align and trim them accurately.
Can I order a herringbone vinyl flooring sample?
Yes. Free samples are available to UK customers from each flooring product page, and international samples are available for the cost of postage. Samples show the material, colour and finish, although the pattern scale may differ from the finished floor.
