Florals For Spring – a tradition worth sticking to!

Like having a roast dinner on a Sunday or enjoying a biscuit or two with a cuppa, indulging in florals during spring is an age-old British tradition.
As the saying goes, March “comes in like a lion and out like a lamb”, bringing with it dazzling yellow daffodils and swathes of pink blossom. After a cold and bleak winter – lockdown certainly added to the winter blues this year – the promise of spring and the birth of new life is always something to look forward to.
The flowers popping up out of the ground symbolise the first glimpse of this rejuvenating season, and we love it.

Spring has inspired many art forms over the years: Van Gogh’s Almond Blossoms painting series, or the Great Expectations line, “spring is the time of year when it is summer in the sun and winter in the shade” – which perfectly captures the fickle season.
But why let the spring inspiration (or springspiration as we like to call it) stop in the art gallery or the library? Working florals into the interior design of your house is a great way to bring spring indoors all year round.

While a bunch of daffs on the dining room table certainly livens the room up for a week, there are ways to incorporate floral motifs and spring shades into your interior that have longer-lasting effect…

Floral patterned vinyl flooring is where your floor stops being purely functional, and becomes something decorative. Rather than just a material to hide the wooden floorboards underneath, vinyl flooring allows you to get creative – in the same way that you would when decorating the walls.

Florals are typically thought of as feminine. After all, floral motifs in fashion and homeware often use a colour palette of pastels and pinks. We appreciate this type of print as much as the next person, so we’ve designed a range of floor patterns that showcase femininity and glamour at their best.
Think of these designs as the perfect finish to a French-inspired powder room, or the ideal accompaniment to a dressing room… An added bonus points that vinyl flooring is incredibly easy to clean, so you don’t run the risk of staining the floor with mascara!

Of course, if feminine florals aren’t quite your thing, there are also several alternative designs that will bring blooms into the house without being overly feminine.
Designs such as the ‘Lita’ include a geometric twist, and use a brighter colour palette of blues which would make a perfect pairing to a more modern home.
We also have the ‘Eline’, which uses a monochrome colour palette for a subtle feel, and would suit a Scandi home.
