Decor ideas for the new season
Every season is fun to decorate for but with winter there’s always something that’s extra special. When you design a space with winter in mind you create a cosy vibe that makes you never want to leave the house. You know, where all you want to do is curl up on the couch with a blanket and a warm drink? But what on earth do you include in your décor for this new season?
One of the hottest ways to decorate this winter is by creating a layered look. This means lots of blankets and throw pillows, the more the better!
The good thing is that you don’t have to stick with everything being perfectly matched. Things are moving away from that which really gives you freedom to create a space that’s truly your own. So if you love cashmere and cable-knit then absolutely incorporate them into your living room. This year it’s all about finding different fabrics and textures to create a space that’s cosy for winter but unique to you. Add in one or our patterned vinyl flooring and you’ve just upped the wow factor!
Blue is the colour ( or is it green… ? )
If you’re wondering what colour to use it’s all about blue. The beautiful blues are really making a comeback and starting to appear everywhere. We have some beautiful blues in the wallpaper range – geometric and bold, Scandi, light and playful! Can’t you see how well they would fit into your space? Check out our Room Hero for inspiration. It’s that fresh feel that really sets the tone for winter décor. And the best part is that you probably have neutrals for winter like white and grey that blue will look beautiful with.
Green is definitely incoming following Pantone’s Greenery being the colour of the year in 2017. Expect many hues and shades to play with – which tone matches your home?
Looking for something different to spice up your kitchen or bathroom? A bit of colour to break up the white? Have a look round our Feature Tiles, ( think super shiny mini glass splashbacks ), or our larger sized splashback range. Forget the bathroom, they look fantastic as stand alone wall art!
Wood furniture, glass splashbacks and more!
Now maybe you’re in need of furniture for your space? The rustic trend is continuing and really gives your space a unique feel. Every piece of wood has it’s own markings and knots so you will get a slightly different piece than anyone else has.
Intricate floral decorative designs are also a biggie for the new season – read our blog post here on floral splashbacks to have your head turned.
Another upcoming trend ( that never really seems to go out of fashion ) is pop art and retro style designs. Point your peepers over to this retro wallpapers and pop art splashback post for the lowdown.
So now that you have some ideas about what to use in your winter décor it’s time to start planning how to incorporate them into your own home!
