A campervan asks you to fit an awful lot into a very small space. Somewhere to sit, sleep, cook, store things — and somehow still make it feel like yours.
The floor is one of the few parts of the van that runs through almost all of it. You see it through the sliding door, down the aisle and underneath everything you’ve built around it.
That makes it a very good place to have a little fun.
Whether you’re halfway through a conversion, giving an old van a new lease of life or starting with an empty shell, patterned vinyl can bring colour and character without taking up a single extra centimetre.
Floors that have already hit the road
There isn’t one campervan look. That’s rather the point.
Some are all pale ply and linen. Some are gloriously retro. Some are bright and graphic. Others start life as fairly ordinary vans and slowly become somewhere you’d happily disappear to for the weekend.
The floor can follow the rest of the interior — or be the thing that gives it its character.
Campervan flooring ideas for a small space
A small van doesn’t automatically need a small, pale or restrained pattern.
A larger repeat can actually feel calmer because you see fewer repetitions across the floor. Finer patterns bring more detail. Stripes and directional designs can draw the eye through a narrow aisle, while a stronger colour can give a simpler interior its character.
Look at what is already in the van: ply or timber, cabinet colour, upholstery, curtains, handles — and how much floor will still be visible once everything is in.
From a T2 to a Transit
Maybe it’s a split-screen VW you’re keeping gloriously retro. Maybe it’s a Transporter, Transit, Sprinter, Ducato, Bongo or a day van that has gradually become somewhere you’d quite like to disappear to for the weekend.
A stripe can lean into something seventies. A graphic geometric can sharpen up a cleaner contemporary conversion. Softer colour can sit happily with timber and neutral upholstery. And sometimes the floor can simply be the thing that makes the whole van feel less ordinary.
Because a campervan often has relatively little exposed floor, pattern can have far more impact than the number of square metres suggests.
Why sheet vinyl works so well in a campervan
If you like the look of tiles, parquet or geometry, sheet vinyl gives you that across one continuous surface rather than building the pattern piece by piece.
Our campervan flooring is 2.6mm cushioned vinyl with an R10 slip-rated surface. It is produced to the dimensions you order and can then be trimmed to the exact shape of the van.
There’s no minimum order, so small campervan floors are absolutely fine. And with panels available up to 2.9m wide, many van floors can be supplied in one piece.
Measuring a campervan floor is simpler than the shape suggests
Wheel arches, cabinets and curved van walls don’t change how you order the flooring.
Measure the floor at its widest point and longest point, then add 5–10cm to each measurement for trimming.
Your flooring arrives as a rectangular panel to those overall dimensions. You can then trim it to the shape of the van during fitting.

Some directional patterns can also be turned to run the other way.

Take a proper look. This is the point to check the scale, direction and any colour changes you’ve asked for.
Once you’re happy with it, we move your flooring into production.

Is your vinyl flooring suitable for campervans?
Yes. It is regularly used in campervans and conversions. As with any sheet vinyl floor, it needs a clean, flat, solid and dry subfloor and should be fitted in line with the installation guidance.
How do I measure my campervan floor?
Measure the floor at its widest point and longest point and add 5–10cm to each measurement for trimming. Your flooring is supplied as a rectangular panel to those dimensions, ready for you to trim to the final shape during fitting.
What about wheel arches and an unusual-shaped floor?
You don’t need to make a wheel-arch-shaped order. Measure the widest width and longest length of the floor area, then trim the vinyl around wheel arches, cabinetry and other fixed shapes when you fit it.
Do I have to buy a full roll?
No. There is no minimum flooring order, so a small campervan floor is absolutely fine.
How wide can one piece of flooring be?
Up to 2.9m wide. That means many campervan floors can be supplied in one piece. If yours needs more than one panel, we’ll plan that with the order.
What pattern works best in a small campervan?
There isn’t one pattern size that works best in every small van. A larger repeat can feel calmer because fewer repetitions are visible, while a smaller pattern brings more detail. Direction matters too, particularly through a narrow aisle. Look at the pattern with your cabinetry, timber and upholstery rather than judging it by floor area alone.
Can I order a sample first?
Yes. Samples are free in the UK, with international sample postage charged separately. Put the sample inside the van alongside your cabinetry, timber, upholstery and paint. The pattern may be reduced to fit the sample square, so use your digital proof to judge the finished scale.
Can I change the colours or pattern scale?
Some designs can be adjusted in colour or scale. Send us a useful colour reference and tell us what you have in mind; we’ll confirm what we can do and show any changes on your digital proof before production.
Can I change which way the pattern runs?
On some directional designs, yes. Tell us the direction you have in mind and we’ll confirm whether that design can be turned and show the orientation on your proof.
Is campervan lino the same as vinyl flooring?
People often use “lino” as a general name when looking for sheet flooring for a van. The flooring sold here is cushioned vinyl rather than traditional linoleum.
What is the flooring made from?
It is 2.6mm cushioned vinyl with an R10 slip-rated surface. It is phthalate-free, Allergy UK approved and contains 20% recycled content. Your floor is produced to order in the UK.
How long does my campervan flooring take?
Most flooring orders are ready for dispatch around two weeks after final proof approval.
How should I fit it?
Start with a smooth, solid, dry subfloor. Let the flooring acclimatise for at least 24 hours, dry-lay it to check the position and make your final cuts, then follow the flooring installation guidance. We recommend fully bonding the vinyl with a suitable solvent-free flooring adhesive.
How do I clean campervan vinyl flooring?
Use warm water with a suitable multipurpose floor cleaner and a damp mop or cloth. For stubborn areas, use a soft or medium brush if needed. Avoid bleach, solvents and abrasive cleaners or pads.
